M. Gannon, P. Black The minutes of the meeting held on the 2nd November 2009 were confirmed as a true record of proceedings. A request from Gary Marshall to play preferred lies throughout the course [i.e. in the rough] was discussed at some length, It was decided, to play preferred lies on fairways and closely mown areas only.
MP+KE mention the fact that they have not received the outstanding monies owed by S. Price from the weekend away, AD offered to contact S. Price and request the monies be paid, MP+KE feel it is in the best interest of the society to now lay this matter to rest. KE was approached about the inclusion of the stableford scores from the Christmas Handicap competitions to the winter stableford league, after discussion it was decided to include stableford scores from the 2 Christmas handicap competitions into the winter stableford league. AD expressed some concern over players playing Matchplay games when they have no intention of committing to the Matchplay programme, he will review the Matchplay league in mid January and report back.
JH asked that the Robbie Smith Memorial competition be moved to 11th July, formally a sweep day. MP the competitions played in March are normally put out to the members for sponsorship and asked if this can be done at the A.G.M. AD reported to the committee that Leasowe Manor G.S. would not participate in the inter-club Texas scramble on 30th May 2010 due to fixture congestion, JH proposed that we should still go forward with the day and to ask the Bowman’s G.S. if they would like to partake in the competition, AD will contact the Bowman’s and report back. AD has had confirmation from Vicars Cross G.C. for the Club day out on 11th June 2010, cost is £45.00. Bacon batch and coffee on arrival 8 holes, soup and sandwiches, 18 holes and 2 course meal. The weekend away date is set for 12-13-14 August, venue is yet to be decided. Proposed constitution amendment, with the absence of PB it was decided to defer till next meeting.
KE suggested that, for his service and support to the society over the past several years, Dave Wilson would be a good candidate for 2010 Vice Captain, the attending committee agreed.
