2)    Minutes from the meeting held on 1st March  2010

The minutes of the meeting held on the 1st March 2010 were confirmed as a true record of proceedings.

Reported that the new competitions during March had some positive feedback

Still awaiting contact from the Bowmans G.C. regarding inter-club scramble

Treasurer

Day out @ Vicars cross is booked with 4 buggies, 2 buggies have been requested by members and the other 2 will be given on a 1st come basis.

The lottery participation by members has increased by 50% an extra 12-15 members joined in the parent club lottery.

So far this season 42 players have turned out, with an average of 30 players per week.

Club polo shirts are now ready and will be available this coming Sunday, cost £15 each

The societies financial position is at a healthy stage, £1677.77 cash in hand, £588 in bank, he is still awaiting bank paying in books.

4)    J. J. Dunne Matchplay memorial

The date for the annual Matchplay against the Leasowe Manor G.S. has had to be moved from the original date set, due to Alan and John Dunne being away on holiday [Travel company had changed return date by 1 day which clashed with the competition]

It is has now been arranged to be played on 29th August with agreement with the Leasowe.

A pairs competition will be introduced on the 2nd May, format to be confirmed

5)    Junior Membership

The committee had been approached regarding junior membership fees, it was agreed that the membership fee should be £25.00

Next year there will be a proposed inclusion in the constitution to define the matter more clearly

7)    Any Other Business

The secretary was approached by Gary Marshall regarding the draw;

Gary suggested “can you ask on Tuesday if when people arrive you put them in the four balls that are there 1st i.e. first four people make game one, next four game two, and so on, therefore encouraging them to turn up early. Those that turn up after 0745 then go off last and not like now when they could be of first. “

This was discussed and thought that this would be a move away from the original spirit of the society, it was agreed unanimously to keep the current format of the draw on Sundays.
