MINUTES OF POULTON VICTORIA G.S. COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, 1st March 2010 Present Chairman: John S Dunne Captain: Ken Easdown Secretary: Alan Dunne Treasurer: Phil Black Handicap Secretary; Mark Proctor Vice Captain: Dave Wilson The minutes of the meeting held on the 1st February 2010 were confirmed as a true record of proceedings. Captain Nothing to report Secretary Informed the committee Arrowe Park G.C. have agreed to let the society use the clubhouse bar for our annual presentation on Sunday 24th October afternoon, they will let us have the room until 7.00pm AD to contact Pat Hickey [A.P.G.C. Secretary] to confirm date. Informed that A.P.G.C. are very interested in the Inter Club Texas scramble on the 30th May and awaiting a reply from the Bowman’s Society. The final results of the Winter Stableford League and Matchplay League, Rob Crofts won both, but as he cannot win both competitions the2nd place in the Matchplay league will deemed the winner of that, it was agreed Les Parrington is to be awarded the winner of the Matchplay League. Was contact by Gary Marshall about the possibility of the society taking part in the Golfability 2010 Competition, it was agreed to play the competition on the 27th June [Week 2 of the J J Dunne Founders] more info is available at http://www.golfability.org/Will order 10 medium and 10xl polo shirts with society crest [cost £10.00 each] Treasurer Balance sheet for 09/10 season is now completed and reported that the club was in a healthy financial position for the coming season After a meeting with the parent club the issue of claiming back V.A.T. was confirmed by the parent club accountant that there was no problem as long as we record and keep a financial report of all monies paid for green fees. Received lottery commissions for the past quarter, these are once again down on last season and a drive should be made to members to participate more into the parent club lottery. Some members have enquired about the possibility of selling spot the ball tickets at work places, it was agreed that new spot the ball tickets be printed with the society crest on, and that a web page with the results of any spot the ball tickets sold outside of the society, to be placed on the website. Handicap Secretary Produce the new season’s fixture cards and will distribute at the 1st competition to members [well done Mark] It was discussed about players disclosing scores on the course, a strong word of warning will be made on the 1st competition that members should not be disclosing their score or any other players score whilst on the course. Discussion arose of the possibility of players entering their scores after playing [Player Entry] this option is not available to society holders of Handicapmaster software, so a trial run of entering scores when players come in after their game, by the handicap secretary on his laptop, will take place on the 1st game of the season off white tees.
